HEY ARCHERS, WE NEED YOUR INPUT AND PARTICIPATION

There will be a meeting for all Archers in the Clubhouse on Tuesday January 7th at 6:30 pm. This meeting will be in lieu of shooting that night for those who normally shoot on Tuesday. The purpose of the meeting will be to listen to our membership and set up a volunteer structure that will meet our needs. Please let us know if you are coming so we can plan refreshments.

We see a need to provide a fun venue in the KDFGC for all of the archery disciplines, in addition to a more organized archery volunteer structure to spread out the workload. There has been interest shown in setting up a permanent 3D target course, as well as our club hosting an annual 3D tournament (possibly in conjunction with another club). We have also submitted a budget for consideration to replace our remaining home-made targets with commercial targets.

With our Club’s archery membership growing, activities in all of the ranges and the corresponding duties related to those ranges have also increased. In the past, the maintenance of our targets has been handled by a small number of volunteers, some of whom, unfortunately, are no longer with us and the remaining few are running out of energy. We would also like a list of those persons willing to generally assist in any way.

With regular meetings we can keep everyone up-to-date and deal with any issues that may arise. We look forward to finally meeting and getting to know all of the club archers and, hopefully this will be the first of regular get-togethers.
